Next, I drew a thought bubble that said "Dream" inside of it. Last, I added a few details and I was done. 
Now, you may be asking "Wait isn't graffiti vandalism?" 
Well, it is, but it is also art. There are people out there who can only find a way to express their beliefs through a can of spraypaint. Graffiti tagging can be used to tell the world who a person is and what they believe in.

Welcome back to the Art Mess!
Today, I'm going to share about my newest project. What a 2D Project basically is, is a drawing or a poster. 
What made this project difficult was actually trying to figure out what art challenge I wanted to do. It took me about two weeks to figure out whether I wanted to make an animation, drawing, or an installation.
Next, I had to figure out what I wanted to draw. That was even harder than finding out what project I wanted, but it didn't take as long. I used idea generators and Pinterest, but nothing really spoke to me. In the end, I just decided to work on drawing things like furniture in frontal perspective and work on a sketchy-looking drawing style. I wasn't very inspired, but I wanted to do it at the same time, so I did. I can honestly say that I'm not much of a fan of the new style and my perspective skills need brushing up. The picture is pretty much a girl having a morning cup of coffee while watching her cat. She isn't a morning person. I guess the picture reminds me of myself- but I don't have a cat. And I'd rather drink tea than coffee. Anyways, thank you for reading! God bless and have a nice day!

Welcome back to the Art Mess!
In art class, we are now doing art projects. There were a few challenges to choose from. A lot of the other students chose a 2D project, which is pretty much a drawing, but I did a compelling presentation.
First, I wrote out what I wanted the presentation to be about and what would happen. I decided to do something of a Public Service Announcement about following your dreams.
Next, I wrote out the script. It wasn't that hard because writing comes easily to me.
Then, I got started. I got help from my art teacher to hold the camera as I acted out the scenes of me drawing. I put the videos into iMovie and made a voice-over; I made my audio 204% on the voice-overs so I could be heard in the final thing.
After getting over the sound of my own voice, I did what I found to be the hardest part. I took a video of myself with an iPad. I spent the better part of five minutes trying to get the camera at the right angle. I had to record multiple times because my hands shook, but I eventually got it.
I put that part into the iMovie and went onto the next thing.
I originally was going to have four or five interviews of people talking about their dreams and following them, but no one was available to be in the video, so I cut that out. 
Since the last scene wouldn't make sense, I cut that out too.
Because this was a school project, I went to iClipart Royalty Free Images for Schools. I went into the sounds category and into the music subcategory. I found some great music on the first try. I ran it with my iMovie and it fit perfectly!
I took another iPad, found the music again and opened up the record tab on my iPad. I recorded the music on iMovie and made the sound quieter than my voice so I could still be heard. 
For the last thing, I went into the amazing app SketchbookPro and made a picture saying, "Will you follow your dream?"
I put the picture into the iMovie, edited the transitions and I was done!
If I have one hope for my video, it is that a lot of people will see it and decide to pursue their dreams.

We aren't making mosaics in art class, but I had a bag of glass and some jewel glue from the thrift store laying around with no purpose.  What I decided to do was make a mosaic. 
I took my glass and started to randomly place glass next to each other, hoping that something would take form. For a long time, nothing did, but then, I saw something take shape. What I saw was a fish. Eagerly, I started placing glass together with new purpose and soon, I had a large and beautiful fish.
I wanted to save my first ever mosaic, so I got out a  masonite board and started gluing. Of course the fish was too big, so I made it smaller and it looked just as good as before. I glued all the glass and put the masonite over it, but either the glue wasn't strong enough or I didn't wait long enough because when I lifted up the board, only a few shards of glass stuck. 
However, one of my crazy sayings is "the pencil is longer than the eraser for a reason," so I tried to remake my fish, but it didn't turn out as good as my first fish. 
My mosaic turned out pretty good for a firt try. I made the fins and flippers pink, but the rest of the body is an array of blues, pinks, and some clears, but the eye is red because I used the types of stones that go in the bottom of a fishtank for the eye. 
The mosaic had it's ups and downs but I think it's pretty good for a first attempt.

In art class, we made linoleum pritmaking blocks. It was a really cool process. It's easy and fun to do.
First, I took my logo design and put it into Sketchbook Pro, my favorite art app. I mirrored the image and started taking things that would be hard to carve from the design. I ended up taking out the vines and the hanging gem.
What I did next was sketch out my revised design onto the linoleum. I had to make sure that it was the side that somewhat resembled clay.
Next, I took my carving tools and started to carve. I had to keep my hands out of the way because the carving tools are sharp. My design took a long time because I pretty much carved out the entire background, but left some thin lines called chatter.
Now, it's time to print. You take your finished linoleum carving and get out some paper, a brayer, a metal sheet, and printmaking paint. You take a spoonful of printmaking paint and put it on a metal sheet. You next take your brayer and roll out the paint really thin until you hear a sticky-sounding noise. Now you roll the paint onto your linoleum design and press the linoleum face-down onto the paper and you now have a print.

Our first assignment in art class this trimester was making a logo for our website. We eventually make stamp blocks from them, but that's a blog post for later.
Every logo has it's special quality, but sometimes you have to dig to find it. I had to make four different designs before I could really choose the one that spoke to me.
So, my logo was a big letter E with a unfurled wing. The E itself was covered in vines and ha a gem hanging from the bottom. Wow, what a lot of  stuff in a little logo.
What every logo needs is a meaning. Each aspect of my logo has just that. The E is rather obvious because it is my fist initial. The wing represents me because I always have my head in the clouds. The vines mean I am a wild person, even if I don't always show it. The gem is because I am a special find; I have great qualities even when I beat myself down.
